Our Tech4Good Education Award Finalist Nishka Mathur has received a Points of Light Award for her efforts in educating and involving women in STEM subjects and coding. Just 15 years old, Nishka runs inclusive, accessible workshops for underprivileged women in the UK and India. Over the last two and a half years she has delivered around 40 coding workshops, directly interacting with roughly 1000 participants. In addition to her workshops Nishka has also mentored local young people, given talks and set up coding clubs.

The Points of Light Award is an award granted by the Prime Minister recognising inspirational volunteers who are making a difference in their community. Since launching in the UK in 2014, it has named hundreds of Points of Light individuals for their commendable actions and hard work. In a personal letter from Boris Johnson, the PM thanked Nishka for her hard work in educating and inspiring women through her STEM workshops.

A huge congratulations to Nishka on this incredible achievement, we wish her all the best as she continues her work in encouraging more young people to get excited about STEM and coding!
