Accessible Education Award, Finalist, 2023

Ocean3D was founded in 2018 by Chris Wood, with an aim to make the world a more accessible and inclusive place for one and all.

Ocean 3D state: By providing students with a way to explore campuses and facilities without having to travel in person, accessible interactive virtual tours can help to level the playing field and make it easier for students with disabilities to attend college.

Interactive virtual tours can help make education more accessible in a number of ways. They can:

  • Reduce barriers to learning. Interactive virtual tours can help students who are unable to physically attend school or participate in field trips. They can also provide students with disabilities with access to educational experiences that would otherwise be unavailable to them.
  • Increase engagement and motivation. Interctive virtual tours can be a more engaging and motivating way to learn than traditional lectures or textbooks. They can help students to see the real-world applications of what they are learning and to develop a deeper understanding of the material.
  • Improve learning outcomes. Studies have shown that students who participate in virtual tours tend to have better learning outcomes than those who do not. This is likely due to the fact that virtual tours provide students with a more immersive and interactive learning experience.
  • Save time and money. Interactive virtual tours can save schools time and money by eliminating the need for field trips. They can also be used to provide students with access to educational experiences that would otherwise be too expensive or time-consuming.
Overall, our interactive tours are a valuable tool that can help to make education more accessible and effective for all students
