Finalist category: BT Young Pioneer Award

BT Young Pioneer Award, Finalist, 2021

My name is AnnabelleGirl sitting in a convertable car with the roof down holding a tablet, and I am 11 years old. My idea is a car that is powered by wind turbines. The turbines will be on the underside of the car, in the bonnet and even the wheels will be converted into turbine to help power the car! The electricity produced by the car will help power the car and charge the battery. Although there are already electric cars, this will be more efficient as you do not have to stop to charge the car. It will cost less and it is more economically efficient. It also uses a clean renewable source of electricity. A battery will be charged at home as usual but when the car is in motion the turbines will take over, producing electricity and powering the car. This will also increase the range of the car substantially and cheaply too! This is also much better for the environment because the cars main source of energy is wind and wind is clean, renewable and completely free .I have always been interested in physics, design and engineering and I had wanted to create something that will help make the world we live in a better place. My invention will change the way vehicles are made for the better.
