Tech4Awards Categories 2014

The Tech4Good Awards 2014 is looking for the individuals and companies that are leading the way in using technology for good. Whether that’s someone giving up their time to volunteer at a local school to ensure they have access to IT, or a nationwide programme giving access to training programmes for thousands of people. Here are the ten awards categories that you will be able to nominate your favourite charity, organisation or individual.

  • Accessibility Award
Celebrating innovative technology that provides access to those with mental and physical disabilities.
  • BT Ingenious Award
Judged by the team behind the BT Ingenious programme, the winner of this award will go one step beyond – we’re looking for new ideas that make a real difference in the world. We want to celebrate creativity and innovation, whether it be within a local community or nationwide.
  • Community Impact Award
Any individual or group that works tirelessly to make their community a better place. Whether that’s an inspiring local community project that uses computers and the internet to help people overcome disadvantage to achieve social change, or an online mentoring service that gives thousands of young people the chance to access advice on a range of subjects that impact their daily lives and their future.
  • Digital Skills Award
Whether it’s a brand new course delivered in a university, or an existing programme being taught within a specific, local community, you can nominate any organisation or partnership who is delivering digital skills to a new audience.
  • Digital Health Award
Do you know a company or individual that uses innovative technology to better the mental or physical health of a patient or service user?
  • IT Volunteer of the Year Award
Do you know someone that gives up their time to support schools, care centres or companies, and ensure that people or organisations have good access to good IT? Make sure you give them the recognition they deserve this year.
  • Judges Award
Our expert panel of judges will be sifting through all of your nominations to pick out a shining star.
  • People’s Award
Now it’s your chance to have your say! Who do you think should be a clear winner?
  • Young People’s Award
We want to know about the people that give up their time, are putting together pieces of technology, or developing new programmes that impact their community through technology. As long as you’re under 18 – we want to hear how you’ve been using technology for good.

Remember, nominations will open on the 4th March 2014 – check back to let us know who you think is using technology for good in your local community.
