Tech4Good Special Award, Winner, 2020

Haben Girma is a disability rights lawyer, author and public speaker advancing disability justice. In 2013 she became the first deafblind person to graduate from Harvard Law School, since when was has been named a White House Champion of Change by President Obama, received a Helen Keller Achievement Award, named on Forbes 30 Under 30 List and won the Tech4Good Special Award 2020.

Haben believes disability is an opportunity for innovation and has delivered presentations on accessibility, diversity and leadership that have touched multiple organisations including  Apple, Lenovo, Microsoft, the New York Times, Oxford Law and Pearson Education.

A passionate and insightful speaker she raises awareness of the power of tech to challenge social injustice and continues her work to towards inclusion and equal opportunities for disabled people across the globe.
